The surroundings

I don’t think a lifetime is enough to discover the extraordinary surroundings of Magliano, there are countless trips that can be done calmly over the course of a day:

  • In 20 minutes you can reach Capalbio and take advantage of the concerts and summer cultural offerings.
  • From Talamone, by renting a small dinghy you can get to the Parco dell’Uccellina full of beaches and deserted coves even in high season.
  • Reaching Alberese (about 20 km, or half an hour’s drive) you can rent a bike and reach the sea by pedaling in an extraordinary naturalistic context: it is an unforgettable experience.
  • In 40 minutes by car you can reach the Terme di Saturnia: with its sulphurous waters at 37.5° it is an oasis of well-being unique in the world.
  • In an hour’s drive you can reach the three pearls of Etruscan origin of the Tuff civilization: Sovana, Sorano e Pitigliano. It is a trip that will remain in your hearts.
  • From Porto Santo Stefano with a comfortable ferry you can quickly reach the island of Giglio with its truly extraordinary sea and its beaches reachable on foot or with frequent buses. Numerous “rent a boats” as soon as they arrive in port will offer you their proposals for various tours of the island, all to be savored with the inebriating scent of the Mediterranean scrub.
  • The Giardino dei Tarocchi, an artistic park in the municipality of Capalbio designed by the artist Nicky De Saint Phalle, populated by statues inspired by the figures of the major arcana of the tarot.
  • The Giardino di Daniel Spoerri, visitors can discover 113 installations by 54 different artists in the large park. Some are hidden in the shade of dense groves, like »The Cockerel and the Irreligious Mantis« by Daniel Spoerri; others attract visitors from afar, like Dani Karavan’s partially golden olive tree.

…and upon returning from these wonderful trips it will be a great pleasure to relax in the pool enchanted by a fiery red sunset in a silence that will enchant you…
